“Mostly, I am deeply honored to be a small part of each students journey. I truly believe movement is the best medicine & if we all took some time out of our days just to be present with ourselves we would slowly make the world a much better place.” -Kasia

Kasia is one of our Hot 26 teachers, take a second to think about that powerful statement she just said. What have you learned about being present in the moment? Has it made you appreciate the small bits of life? Grounded you when life was feeling like a hurricane all around you? Imagine the millions of people in the world that haven’t had the opportunity to learn about meditation or yoga. Imagine if you never learned about yoga or meditation. Maybe movement, like yoga and meditation is more than just movement, maybe movement, can be a movement. If you’d like to learn more about Kasia’s incredible practice as well as story, keep reading below!

When/how did you discover yoga?

I began to practice hot 26 regularly just outside of Orlando in 2014 as a way to stay active. I had been to a few yoga classes prior but none like this. This heated style of practice allowed me to find new flexibility, the mental strength to make it through an entire 90 minutes & brought awareness to my mind/body connection. While moving up and down the East Coast as my husband advanced in his career, my practice was the only thing that remained constant. I did my 500hr teacher training in 2017 & since have also had extensive training in vinyasa as well as certified in prenatal.

What do you love about teaching yoga?

I love connecting to students by sharing what I have learned over the years from my own practice as well as the wonderful teachers I’ve learned from along the way. I love watching students grow in their practice & live for their ah-ha moments! I enjoy seeing the eagerness in students to take care of themselves physically, mentally & emotionally. I love seeing people, new and old, show up for themselves over and over again. Mostly, I am deeply honored to be a small part of each students journey. I truly believe movement is the best medicine & if we all took some time out of our days just to be present with ourselves we would slowly make the world a much better place.

How has yoga and meditation changed your life?

Having a steady practice has had such a positive effect on my life. Everything I learn from time spent on my mat translates to how I live my life. The lessons I learn about myself are invaluable & help me navigate day to day. I am much more aware of my breath & how to use it, my mind & it’s stories & how it all connects to the body and how it shows up. I am much less reactive and a lot more compassionate and understanding. My yoga practice is where I come to reset & encourage my students to do the same. It is my only constant in an otherwise hectic, but beautiful life.

Why do you teach at Bella Prana?

The community. We have some of the best students, teachers, leadership I have been delighted to cross paths with. Our students are some of the most dedicated people I have had great pleasure of growing alongside.

Bella Prana is also SUCH a special space with many opportunities to grow between all of the work shops, trainings & wide variety of classes offered regularly.

Tell us a fun fact about you?

I was the first in my family to be born in the United States; my parents & older brother immigrated here from Poland. I am also from a big family- one out of five children (obviously the favorite child).

Thank you so much Kasia for being our Teacher of the Month! We appreciate you more than you’ll ever know!
