What is required to graduate?

To graduate this program officially you must experience or watch all 200 hours of course content. You will be given some written homework throughout the training, and you must submit recorded videos of you teaching. We will watch these recordings to ensure you have put in the practice time, and provide final feedback as you go out into the world. We show you exactly how to do these recordings step by step, so no worries if technology makes you nervous. We got you.

Fulfilling the graduation requirements for this yoga teacher training, and being deemed a safe and thoughtful instructor by a leader teacher, is how you will receive your official certificate of completion. Paying for training is not a guaranteed certification. We only certify you if we feel you are a safe instructor and have put in the necessary time to achieve that.

How long is the training program?

This is a 200hr training program that will take 9 months to complete, and you will want every bit of it to allow these experiences to integrate into your life and practice. This experience should be done with intention and time for personal discovery, as well as enough time to practice what you are learning – to ensure you graduate ready to teach.

There are 50 hours of virtual lecture, and 150 hours of live intensives. You will complete 5 intensives every other month.. If you need to miss an intensive, we will record them and make those videos available to you so you can catch up.

During the months in between your intensives, you will have the 50 hours of on demand lectures to complete at your own pace, an at home reading list to move through at your own pace, and we expect you to be committed to your personal yoga practice to supplement what you are learning in those lectures.

You may take longer than 9 months to complete if needed. We find that this is an ideal length of time to allow the training to work with your family and lifestyle, while also allowing time for the knowledge to build and integrate, as well as time to practice teaching!

After your training, you have up to one year to turn in your graduation materials and be approved to receive your certificate.

This means you have access to all of your training video lectures until October of 2027. Your manual is yours to keep permanently.

It’s time! Our 2026 training sign ups just opened!

Choose the “reserve my spot” button to sign up! You will be taken to our virtual studio, where you will create an account and follow the prompts. You sign up on our virtual studio because some of your content will be online so you need an account there to access it.

Within 48 hours you will receive a welcome email with all of your next steps.

Who should sign up for this training?

This is a Vinyasa Flow-based training that will also expose you to many styles of yoga. This yoga teacher training, in particular, is wonderful for those who would like to teach yoga in their communities, as well as students wishing to dive more deeply into their practice.

We expect trainees to be open minded, fully present,  kind, and committed to the experience.

You do not need to be able to achieve “fancy” postures or be super flexible. This training is for real people and real bodies. Our focus is on teaching you how to instruct others, so we ask that you do have a personal practice and are able to practice confidently and safely on your own.

You do not have to want to teach yoga to join this teacher training. Though, please note, you will be expected to participate in every aspect of the training, as you learn how to teach others together.

Is the Training Yoga Alliance Certified?

Yes! We are a Yoga Alliance certified 200hr training program. During this training, you will learn how to register yourself as a Yoga Alliance certified instructor. Feel free to search for our school on the Yoga Alliance website, and check out reviews from our graduates!

I found the yoga teacher training to be exceptional! It was a very thorough training with knowledgeable instructors that are always willing to help you. The training is set up so that can easily work around your work schedule as well. I would definitely recommend this training to others!”  – Amy
Whom should I contact with questions?

If you have any questions at all, please reach out to us at [email protected]. We are here to help guide and support you throughout this entire experience.

How are you more affordable?

Because we are the largest and oldest studio in the city, and we are for a reason – quality and community. We believe it’s our responsibility to use our history and size to focus on making yoga accessible. One of the ways we make yoga accessible is price. Our training has a lower price than the local and national average for trainings, while also providing payment plans to make the financial schedule more doable. You can break your payments up into 3 or 5 payments with an initial non-refundable $300 deposit when you sign up that goes toward the total cost.

Spend 200hrs with master instructors and become certified to teach yoga!

Why are you the most flexible?

Another foundational way we make training accessible is to have a schedule that works with real life and your family. Our intensive weekends are once every other month. This allows you to plan far in advance and not spend too much time away from work or family.

We also record the entire training – because life happens! If you miss you can watch the videos and get the exact same content as if you were in the room.

But that’s not it! You can hop on LIVE from home at any time. If you get sick and need to stay home, or maybe have to travel, you can still join us live virtually. You can ask questions of the instructors from home and continue to participate!

What is unlimited virtual yoga?

We do everything we can to help support your personal practice as you train with us, so you get an unlimited membership for the year to our virtual studio. We have over 600 classes of every level on our virtual studio to give you free access to trying different teachers and styles on-demand on your own schedule. We encourage you to join us in the studio if you can, so please remember we have regular donation only classes every week to help make that possible!

Why is it better to learn multiple styles?

In our training you will be exposed to many different styles of yoga! Our foundation is the Vinyāsa flow style, however you will learn about Restorative, Gentle, Yin, Power, Hot Yoga, Beginners, Aṣṭāṅga, Prenatal and more. Exposure to many styles gives you the opportunity to identify what kind of teacher you would like to be (people are often surprised!) and helps you to become an instructor with greater range so that you can provide accessible experiences to the varied bodies in the room. At the Collective we believe a training that exposes you to many styles, and voices, creates soulful holistic instructors.

Why do the instructors matter?

Together our 3 lead instructors have 70 years of teaching experience! That’s just our lead instructors –  instead of spending your time with only a few instructors – we bring in teachers who are each a master their field. This means you will have dynamic weekends filled with different perspectives. Our instructors are 500hr certified teachers who have taught thousands of students.

Why is your course content so incredible?

The highest quality of instructor is foundational – and so it what we choose to spend our time talking to you about. You will learn yogic history and philosophy. Explore a deep understanding of all 8 Limbs of Yoga, Yama and Niyama, and more from the yogic texts. You learn about teaching yoga to those with disabilities, and trauma informed language, as well as other healing modalities such as Ayurveda and Reiki. You will spend time with an expert on the Sanskrit language, and how to create inclusive class experiences.

To have the right to teach yoga to others, we help ensure you’ve done the personal, reflective, and scholarly work to truly represent this ancient practice, and honor the Indian and South Asian roots of yoga.

As you can tell…this training is the real deal. So only choose us if you feel ready to show up fully – and we promise you, we will bring it.

We are here to support you.

One of the most surprising parts of yoga teacher training, are the friendships you leave with. Community is core to everything we do. Come meet others who want to learn, reflect, connect and serve.

Ashley says the success of her business is rooted in pure frustration. In response to that frustration, Black Yoga Magazine was born. The only publication of its kind, BYM exists because of the lack of representation for people of color in the yoga world. Ashley also made the conscious decision to lower the barrier to entry when it comes to people of color obtaining their certification to teach Yoga and less than a year ago, Ashley launched her first 200-Hour Hatha Yoga Teacher Training Program virtually. To date, Ashley has successfully trained over 4000 yoga professionals.
