It’s more than just yoga

Adriana teaches her students that the breath is the most powerful tool in one’s arsenal. That, combined with yoga, she allows one to celebrate the power to discover their truest self, bring kindness and softness to their thoughts, and offers them strength during the darkest times. We are honored to spotlight Adriana Corso as our Teacher of the Month for March 2020.

When/how did you discover yoga?

I began practicing yoga at the age of 17 as a way to stay physical and as an attempt to begin healing the relationship between mind and body.

What do you love about teaching yoga?

Sharing my practice with my students is trans-formative and grounds me in a way that my practice alone cannot accomplish. Watching my students move and breath is its own teaching experience and I often become the student; there is always something to learn from each class, each experience. Being a teacher allows me to continue to grow in order to walk alongside my students as they do the same.

How has yoga and meditation changed your life?

It healed the relationship between mind and body that I was looking for all of those years ago. The physicality of the Asana and the grounding and detoxification of the breath allowed me to release years of built up trauma and finally settle into my body long enough to start to listen and learn who I was and who I wanted to become.

Why do you teach at Bella Prana?

It is my YTT alma mater and I am forever grateful to the studio for having always been a safe and encouraging place to both practice and teach.

Tell us a fun fact about you!

And as my side jobs – I represent indigent death row inmates and perform aerial silks!

Adriana teaches Hot Power Hour on Thursday evenings and Hot Power Flow on Sunday mornings at Bella Prana Yoga & Meditation, Tampa FL. Bella Prana was voted the best yoga studio in Tampa Bay!
