We are so grateful that we can depend on a strong team of Desk Angels. Shea radiates love, compassion and dedication to her practice inside and outside the rooms! We love to see her around the studio and had to know what yoga means to her.
What do you love about yoga?
I found yoga five years ago after being invited by a friend and I thought I’d give it a try as I was looking for something different to add to my fitness routine. I wasn’t a “lover” right away as it was difficult for me to calm my racing monkey mind and focus for 75 minutes. After practicing for 6 months, yoga had already impacted my life physically and mentally. I love so much about yoga. Yoga has brought so much flexibility to my body. I love the stretching that we normally forgot to do. I’ve gained so much strength and mobility through yoga and even lost some weight.
How has yoga and meditation changed your life?
Yoga has been life changing for me in so many ways, especially mentally. It has taught me how to “let go” and release my thoughts through meditation and breath-work. Practicing has increased my mindfulness and has brought a sense of calmness to my life that I didn’t have before. Keep practicing because you’re “mat” will be calling.
Why did you want to be a Desk Angel at Bella Prana?
My friend brought me to a Bella Prana Yoga class for the first time last August, and I was sold. I knew I wanted to be a desk angel instantly. The whole vibe was upbeat, the students and staff were so friendly and welcoming. This is a community I knew I wanted to be apart of while growing my practice.
