Julianne is a shooting star full of positive energy. As soon as you meet her, you feel significant and welcomed. Julianne is our Teacher of the Month for May and we couldn’t be more delighted. She cares about each individual student and makes each one of her practices unique. Julianne will be moving next month so she unfortunately will not be teaching at Bella Prana at this time. We are so glad we got to share every moment with her and cannot wait to connect again in the future, thank you Julianne!

When/how did you discover yoga?

I started to discover yoga in a standard corporate gym, hoping to find my path as lost, artsy, high school senior. Basically, Crow pose was as spiritual and deep as it got, and that also happened to be the hardest pose I thought I’d ever try. It wasn’t until 2013 when I took my first teacher training that I really had a better grasp on what yoga is, I so far I am still discovering it to this day.

What do you love about teaching yoga?

I love connecting to my students and love watching them grow over time, including myself. There’s always so much beauty in the blossoming of flowers!

How has yoga and meditation changed your life?

In a whole bunch of different ways! First off meditation, especially the very observant Vipasana style, has taught me it all starts with me, and has helped me with depression PTSD and anxiety, my Asana practice I have to say has helped with confidence, realizing my strength and ability to pull through life’s comedy show and sometimes bad sense of humor. Through The application of yoga both on and off the mat I can humbly say, I feel the sunshine in my soul!

Why do you teach at Bella Prana?

When I first moved to Tampa about 2 1/2 years ago I stumbled into this studio, in a matter of days after moving in, and when I did, I knew, this was the place for me, I started off practicing Ashtanga and fluttering my desk angel wings, then realized I had to dive in even deeper and take my 300 hr training here and eventually audition to teach here, (that was the hardest part because of how much I wanted to be here), this studio has been my second home and everyone that enters the doors is like family!

Tell us a fun fact about you?

I got to meet my favorite singer/songwriter Martin Gore from my favorite band, Depeche Mode on a few occasions one was when I went back stage and met the whole band, oh also let me add, I had the opportunity to stick my whole face in a wolf’s mouth for a muzzle greeting.
