When you walk into Bella Prana you might see the smiling face of Kim Amerell, our Desk Angel of the Month! Her smiling face, sweet energy, and positive attitude makes our studio a better place. Our instructors and students are grateful for Kim so we wanted to find out more about this incredible woman!

How did you discover yoga?

I found yoga roughly 8 years ago in Virginia when my mom joined a yoga studio. When I would come home from school she would drag me to her classes for some girl time. I like to say the rest is history but it took me several years to find a consistent daily practice. I always used yoga as a means of helping me get ready for the upcoming volleyball season or recover from the one just past. At first, I didn’t realize how much my body was craving getting onto my mat but once I moved down to Florida I started to practice more and more, which led me to where I am today. I try to get on my mat as many days a week as I can and my love for this beautiful practice grows each time I step foot on my mat.

What do you love to do when you are not doing yoga?

When I am not practicing yoga I can be found near a beach, playing volleyball, reading a book, or traveling. Traveling is one of my deepest passions in this life. The urge to travel and experience different cultures never stops growing. Coaching is next to traveling on my list of passions. I played indoor volleyball growing up and throughout college. Once I graduated from UT, I began playing the wonderful sport of beach volleyball, which led me to where I am today. I am currently the assistant beach volleyball coach at the University of Tampa and a coach over in St. Pete for BeVolley Academy. If I am not coaching or off galavanting another wonderful country, you can find me at a local coffee shop reading a book.

What do you love about being a desk angel at Bella Prana?

My favorite thing about being a Desk Angel is being able to socialize with all of the amazing students, whether it is a simple hello or an in-depth conversation. The amount of joy and energy that walks through the door each day at the studio is addicting to be around! Bella Prana feels like a home to me.
